Cookie Policy
What cookies this site uses and how you can control them.
Last updated: 2 November 2026
This policy explains how gochallenge.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It covers this website only. The GoChallenge app is covered by our Privacy Policy.
The short version
- This website does not use advertising cookies.
- We use analytics cookies only if you say yes. You can change your mind at any time.
- With your consent, that analytics can include a recording of how you move around the site. It is never used for advertising.
- We store a few small preferences in your browser so the site works the way you left it. None of them identifies you.
- Our fonts are hosted on our own website, so loading them sends nothing to anyone else.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. Local storage works in a similar way but never leaves your device. Under Irish law (the ePrivacy Regulations, S.I. 336 of 2011), we may only store or read this information without your consent when it is strictly necessary to provide something you asked for.
What this website stores in your browser
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| gc-consent | Local storage | Remembers your choice in the cookie banner, so we don't ask again on every page | 12 months, or until you clear your browser storage |
| gc-wish-dismissed | Local storage | Remembers that you closed the Make-A-Wish banner, so it doesn't appear again | Until the campaign ends or you clear your browser storage |
None of these is sent to us or to anyone else, and none of them identifies you. They only store a choice you made. The site works fine without them.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Amplitude to understand how visitors use the website: which pages are useful, and where people leave. With your consent we also load Google Tag Manager, which manages other scripts on our site, and Google Analytics, which measures how the website is used. Google Tag Manager does not set cookies itself. We use Google Analytics for measurement only, not for advertising.
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics reach Google through our own web address, using our hosting provider, Vercel. Your IP address and your general location are passed to Google so that this works. Google may process this data outside the EEA.
Amplitude processes its data in the EEA. These are the analytics cookies:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| AMP_ followed by a code | Amplitude | Recognises your browser between visits and groups your page views into a session | 12 months |
| AMP_MKTG_ followed by a code | Amplitude | Records which website or campaign brought you here | 12 months |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one browser from another between visits | 2 years |
| _ga_ followed by a code | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current visit | 2 years |
These cookies are only set after you choose "Sure" in our cookie banner. If you choose "No thanks", or ignore the banner, Amplitude and Google Analytics are never loaded and the cookies are never set.
With your consent, Amplitude can also record a session replay: the pages you open, where you click and scroll, and a reconstruction of what was on the screen. We use this to see where the site is hard to use. Text typed into form fields is masked. How many visits are recorded, and what else is hidden, follows Amplitude's settings. Recordings are processed in the EEA. If a recording cannot be sent immediately, it stays in this browser until it can, then it is removed.
Page view counts
Whatever you choose in the banner, our web server counts how many times each page is viewed. This happens on the server when your browser asks for a page. Nothing runs in your browser, and nothing is stored on your device. For each page view we record:
- the page
- the website that linked to it, as a domain name only
- the type of device, such as mobile or desktop
- your country
- campaign tags in the link, if there are any
We count our cookie banner the same way. When it first appears on a visit, and when you choose "Sure" or "No thanks", your browser tells our server which happened and on which page. Nothing is stored on your device for this.
We don't record your IP address or anything else that could identify you or link one visit to another. We send these totals to Amplitude, in the EEA, so we can see how many people find the site. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used.
Services that deliver content to this website
| Service | Provider | What it does | Cookies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Vercel | Serves the website. Keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability | None |
| Video | Bunny.net | Streams the videos on the website | None |
Services you choose to open
Join Waitlist opens our waitlist form on this page. That form is provided by Tally. Other buttons take you to demo booking (Google Calendar), the app stores and our social media pages. Once you use these services, their own cookie and privacy policies apply.
How to control cookies
- On this site: Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer to change your choice at any time. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading Amplitude and Google Analytics and remove their cookies.
- In your browser: You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The site will still work, but the cookie banner will appear again.
Changes to this policy
If we change which cookies we use, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change needs your consent, we will ask again.
